GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Grand Junction police say 17 downtown arsons targeting homes and cars since January may be the work of a serial arsonist.

Police Chief Bill Gardner says police and firefighters are working to find the suspect and any accomplices using an arson task force, which was created by the city and fire department in February.

Gardner says police have a surveillance tape of the suspect setting fire to one building using some sort of lighter fluid and a newspaper.

He says the suspect on the videotape matches the description that one arson victim gave police.
