Denver police are investigating a possible neglect case after a 19-year-old woman was found who appeared to be severely malnourished, authorities say.

Police were searching Tuesday for a wanted person at a home on Inca Street near West Second Avenue when they found the woman, said Detective Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

The woman was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, where she was being treated Wednesday, Jackson said.

Police are investigating whether this was neglect or related to a medical condition, Jackson said.

“We don’t know yet,” he said.
