LOVELAND — A man was arrested Wednesday night after a process server delivering divorce papers and a restraining order was killed in a home west of Loveland, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said.
Two children who were present in the home near Glade Road were taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with unknown injuries.
Eloise Campanella, spokeswoman for the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, identified the suspect as James Scott Whitler, 45.
A spouse on the scene refused medical treatment for minor injuries and was taken along with her father to the Sheriff’s Office for statements.
The original call on the incident came in at 8:05 p.m. The victim was dead when deputies arrived.
Investigators have not located any firearms but are exploring the possibility of blunt-force injuries and stab wounds, Campanella said.
