SAN ANTONIO — Coach Gregg Popovich has signed a contract extension with the Spurs.
Popovich, who has led the Spurs to four NBA titles, in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007, confirmed the extension runs through the 2011-12 season.

NEW ORLEANS — NBA coach of the year Byron Scott and the Hornets agreed in principle to a two-year contract extension.
Hawks hire Sund as GM
ATLANTA — The Hawks hired Rick Sund as general manager. Sund, 56, spent last year as a consultant for the SuperSonics after serving as the team’s general manager from 2001-07. He replaces Billy Knight, who announced his resignation May 7.
Noah gets probation, fine
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Bulls forward Joakim Noah accepted a deferred prosecution agreement in his marijuana possession case, resulting in six months’ probation and a $200 fine. Noah was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and for having an open container of alcohol Sunday.
Dorsey has scoop on draft
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The order of the top two picks for next month’s NBA draft, according to Joey Dorsey, have already been determined.
Kansas State forward Michael Beasley, Dorsey said, is going No. 1 to the Bulls. And guard Derrick Rose, Dorsey’s teammate at Memphis, is going No. 2 to the Heat.
“I’ve got the inside. . . . I’m not telling you how I know. You’ll see June 26,” Dorsey said.
