After two seasons of being left in the dark, Mountain West fans who have stayed with DirecTV are finally getting the return.
The Mtn. network, which started in fall 2006, will be available on DirecTV starting Aug. 27, just in time for football season.
The conference’s board of directors announced the deal Tuesday at the end of its annual meetings in Fort Worth, Texas. The Mtn. will carry 30 football games this season, including six tripleheader Saturdays, as well as more than 100 men’s and women’s basketball games.
Within the conference footprint (i.e. Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and parts of Dallas/Fort Worth and San Diego), The Mtn. will be on the carrier’s choice package, and outside the conference’s confines it will be available as part of the sports package.
Next step: Going high-def.
