Colorado philatelists, take note: Your state is getting a new postage stamp next week.
The U.S. Postal Service is coming out with a series of “Flags of Our Nation” stamps. The first 10 stamps in the series will be released June 14 — Flag Day — and Colorado is among them.
Our stamp features “an image of the colorful state flag alongside snowy mountain peaks and evergreen trees,” the post office said in a news release.
The first set represents Alabama through Delaware (eight states alphabetically, including Colorado), American Samoa and the U.S. flag.
The post office is hosting a ceremony to unveil the stamps on the west steps of the state Capitol at 10 a.m. June 14.
