GEORGETOWN, Colo.—Arapahoe Basin became the last Colorado ski resort to shut down for the season Sunday, with some skiers and snowboarders showing up in shorts.
“It’s time for a break,” said employee Sha Miklas at the Arapahoe Basin ticket office.
A-Basin was the first Colorado resort to open this season when lifts started running Oct. 10.
The resort got two fresh inches of snow before lifts opened Sunday for closing day, and it reported a base of 34 inches at mid-mountain. Two of its seven lifts, 20 trails and 200 acres were open.
The resort aims to reopen in October.
