THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX-COLORADO: Selected Nita Mosby Henry as the 2008 Outstanding Undergraduate Faculty of the Year. Mosby Henry has been a faculty member since 2001.

AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES: Named Jameson Smith, chief operating officer for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, as a fellow.

THE COLORADO NURSES FOUNDATION: Presented its Nightingale Award for Excellence in Human Caring to Debra Malone, a registered nurse at Rose Medical Center.

YELLOW TRANSPORTATION: Announced that Robert Williams of Colorado Springs placed first in the four-axle class at the Colorado state truck-driving competition. The win qualifies Williams for the 71st Annual National Truck Driving Championships in Houston in August.

NEWMONT MINING CORP.: Appointed Alan R. Blank as senior vice president, legal and external affairs.

BANK OF CHOICE: Appointed Chris Richmond, executive vice president and partner of Flood & Peterson Insurance Inc., to the board of directors.

COLORADO BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN: Selected Dawn M. Tollakson of Aurora as the 2008 Young Careerist. Tollakson is a senior crime analyst with the Aurora Police Department.

TOWNSEND AND TOWNSEND AND CREW LLP: Announced that Brendan E. Cowles has joined the Denver office as an associate in the litigation group.

MENTAL HEALTH CENTER OF DENVER: Added attorney Curtis V. Smith; Rina Delmonico, executive director of the University of Colorado at Denver’s Center for Information Technology Innovation Program; Lisa R. Roy, program officer of the Piton Foundation; and business consultant Richard S. Simms, to the board of directors.

THOUGHT EQUITY MOTION: Appointed Sal Siino as executive vice president of worldwide sales.

DENVER CHAPTER OF THE ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTANTS: Recently awarded Denver Auditor Dennis Gallagher the Community Leader Award for his work in establishing a more accountable and transparent audit committee for the city.
