DENVER—The Colorado Department of Transportation has halted a $13.7 million, 5-year transportation improvement study in the northwest metro area, citing declining funding and lack of consensus.
Since October 2003, CDOT has been analyzing more than 70 alternatives to improve the highway network from the Northwest Parkway to C-470.
The Northwest Corridor Environmental Impact Statement is necessary for federally-funded projects. CDOT said it would make the data available to any entity interested in building highway improvements without federal dollars.
