The Dallas Stars on Monday signed former Colorado College standout Toby Petersen to a two-year contract worth $550,000 per season.
Petersen, 29, played in eight regular-season games and 16 playoff games for the Stars last season after the NHL team called him up from the American Hockey League’s Iowa Stars.
“We are very pleased to have Toby under contract the next two seasons,” Dallas co-general manager Les Jackson said. “Toby is a consummate professional on and off the ice.”
Petersen, a 5-foot-10, 197-pound center, was an AHL all-star last season before his NHL stint. He was a ninth-round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2000 after a four-year career at CC.
