Getting your player ready...

Jeff Baker smashed the first inside-the-park homer of his career in the third inning Tuesday night, giving the Rockies a 2-0 lead. It was the 10th inside-the-parker in Rockies history. Garrett Atkins hit the last one, Sept. 23 last season in San Diego. Ellis Burks is the only player to hit two in a Rockies uniform.

Homer time.

This season, when Indians starter Paul Byrd steps on the mound, balls fly out of the park. Byrd entered Tuesday’s game having given up 17 homers, most in the majors. He served up two more to the Rockies — Baker’s inside job and a two-run blast by Brad Hawpe in the fourth inning.

Rehab work.

Clint Barmes and Troy Tulowitzki made starts for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday as they continued their rehab assignments. Barmes hit leadoff and played second base, going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Tulowitzki started at shortstop and hit second, going 2-for-4 with a double in the Sky Sox’s 4-2 victory over Salt Lake.
