ALAMOSA, Colo.—Alamosa County is preparing a “Code of the West” that lets newcomers know what government services they can get and what rules they face if they move into rural parts of the county.
The guide includes a list of areas that are served by school buses and roads that are cleared by snowplows or paved by county crews.
It also outlines regulations on construction, commercial projects and other activities.
The Alamosa County commissioners are still reviewing the guide. Once they approve, it will be distributed at Alamosa City Hall and the Alamosa County Chamber of Commerce.
It will also likely be posted on the county Web site.
County Commissioner Darius Allen says the guide could save officials a lot of trouble in the future.
