SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colo.—Authorities say a truck-mounted construction crane has collapsed at the Snowmass Village resort near Aspen, injuring one worker.

The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department says the crane collapsed Tuesday at a hotel construction site. The worker has been hospitalized with a head cut.

Authorities say a small welding tank exploded when it was hit by the falling crane, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

Related WestPac, the developer in charge of the project, says the crane is owned and operated by Rocky Mountain Structures of Denver.

Related WestPac spokesman Steve Alldredge says an investigation is under way but the cause of the collapse is unknown.
