The 46,000-acre wildfire burning in southeastern Colorado is now 75 percent contained.
The Bridger fire started June 10 at the U.S. Army’s Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site in the Red Rock Canyon area in Las Animas County. Nearby residents could continue to see smoke as fire crews completed containment along the eastern edge of the fire Tuesday. Six hand crews, two helicopters, three water trucks and 14 engines were working the fire. Army officials blamed a lightning strike for the fire. The Denver Post
