Both reels are from Ross USA, but the looks are different.
Through a license with Realtree, the Montrose company will offer a limited, custom-engraved series of CLA series fly reels coated with the patented camouflage, both as a novelty and a hedge against the reel flash that frightens fish. Available in the full size range, the series is priced from $205-$280.
Even more exclusive is an issue of pink Rhythm series reels to support the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and honor the memory of Susie Hauck, wife of Ross founder Ross Hauck, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2002. The numbered and engraved reels cost $240-$250. This year also marks the 35th anniversary of the company.
Ross will donate $7,500 from the sale of this series to the foundation.
