SUMMIT COUNTY — Divers recovered the body of a Commerce City man from Green Mountain Reservoir just before noon today.
The body of Heraldo “Victor” Almeida, 24, was found about 80 feet off shore in about 12 feet of water near the Prairie Point beach, at the east end of the reservoir. He had been reported missing about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Almeida and two friends participated in a fishing derby in Kremmling and were on their way back to Commerce City when they decided to stop for a swim at Green Mountain Reservoir.
Summit County coroner Joanne L. Richardson said the circumstances of Almeida’s death are consistent with accidental drowning.
