ROCKY FORD, Colo.—Two men killed after their vehicle collided with a train in southeast Colorado are being identified as residents of the Lower Arkansas Valley.

The Colorado State Patrol says 57-year-old Fred Grano of Rocky Ford and 35-year-old Theodore Torres of La Junta died Tuesday at the scene of the crash, just east of Rocky Ford in Otero County.

Authorities say the crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when a Ford F150 pickup Grano was driving failed to stop for the train at a marked crossing.

A westbound BNSF train hit the pickup on the passenger side, causing it to overturn and eject the two men.

No one on the train was hurt.

Authorities are awaiting toxicology test results to determine whether alcohol or drugs may have been factors in the crash.
