William “Bill” Lindsay III is one of three recipients of the National Governors Association’s Distinguished Service to State Government Award in the Private Citizen category this year. Lindsay was nominated by Gov. Bill Ritter for his work with the Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform.
“If there was a way to take whatever the award is and cut it up into 27 pieces and give every commissioner a piece, I would certainly want to do that because they all did a tremendous job,” Lindsay said Wednesday.
Lindsay is the president of Employee Benefits for Lockton Cos.’ Denver office and is a co-chairman of the Health Care Committee for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Colorado first lady Jeannie Ritter will present the award during the NGA’s Centennial Meeting on July 13 in Philadelphia.
The last Coloradan to win the Distinguished Service to State Government Award was Samuel Gary in 1986.
