LOVELAND, Colo.—Larimer County sheriff’s officials say a man has drowned while swimming with in a lake in Loveland.

Sheriff’s officials say rescuers were called to the swim beach at Boyd Lake at 12:06 p.m. Saturday and were told Omar Felix of Evans went under near some buoys.

Authorities said rescuers found him in water about 8 feet deep about 40 minutes after he disappeared under the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputy Fire Marshall Scott Pringle said Felix was swimming with a relative when he began struggling. The family member wasn’t able to hold him up.
