Boston and Styx ooze a certain 1970s arena-rock aesthetic that should handily inhabit the walls of Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sunday, although the former offers mostly anthemic, guitar-based stompers, while the latter still seems to be grappling with its image. $49.50-$75.

Matmos is either brilliant or annoying, depending on your tolerance for stitched-together sounds that veer from playful to detached. The found-sound electronic duo will play songs from its entirely electronic new album Tuesday at the Boulder Theater. $15.

Ween does not need to release a new album each year to tour, as much as fans worship the inimitable art-rock act. How it pleases the jam-rock, novelty song and hipster-aloof communities simultaneously is a matter of great debate. Wednesday-Thursday at the Fillmore. $35.

Low isn’t the glacially paced, introspective trio it once was, testing patience while delivering melodies and murky messages, but the Duluth, Minn., trio still knows how to nail the glorious tension in concert. Wednesday at the Bluebird Theater with Taught Me. $15-$17.
