DENVER—The White House has sent the names of three candidates to the Senate Judiciary Committee for consideration to fill vacancies in Colorado’s U.S. District Court.
Sens. Wayne Allard and Ken Salazar made the announcement Thursday. Salazar, a Democrat, and Allard, a Republican, support two of the candidates but disagree on Philip Brimmer, who is the special prosecutions section chief at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The other candidates are former Colorado Deputy Chief Attorney General Christine Arguello and former assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory Goldberg.
Salazar said he would not support Brimmer, who was not among those backed by an advisory commission Salazar established this year. Brimmer received the endorsement of U.S. Attorney Troy Eid.
