FREDERICK, Md.—The man who brought the Flying Dog Brewery to Frederick from Denver is leaving his post.

Eric Warner is stepping down as CEO of the brewery, saying he’s leaving “in search of a fresh, new challenge.”

The company is still headquartered in Denver, but Warner moved production to the former Frederick Brewing Co., renaming it Wild Goose Brewery, in 2006.

Besides Flying Dog products, the local brewery makes Wild Goose beers and ales, and contracts with Brewer’s Alley in Frederick and Terrapin Beer Co. in Georgia.

Jim Caruso, chairman of the brewery’s board of directors, became general partner and CEO July 1. Warner will remain as an adviser until Sept. 1.
