DENVER—Colorado recalled right-hander Ryan Speier from Triple-A Colorado Springs before the Rockies played the New York Mets on Friday night.
To make room for Speier the Rockies optioned left-hander Cedrick Bowers to Colorado’s top farm team.
Speier is 1-1 with a 4.13 ERA in 25 games for the Rockies this season. Bowers has a 13.50 ERA in five games with the Rockies.
