($19.95, Santa Monica Press) has a subtitle that takes longer to read than it does to get on some of the rides: “The Unofficial, Unauthorized, Unprecedented History of Every Land, Attraction, Restaurant, Shop and Event in the Original Magic Kingdom.” And during those long waits when you don’t have a FastPass is exactly where this book might come in handy, because it’s not a guide. It’s a well-researched documentation of every inch of the park, from the big rides such as Space Mountain down to the service stations such as the all-important Locker Area. The fun stuff comes courtesy of the lists inside the trivia boxes, including the approximate speeds of 12 attractions and the 15 tallest structures. This one is for that cousin who goes to the park every year or two and knows where all the Hidden Mickeys areand even knows what that means.
