Eleven residents of an assisted living home in Fort Collins were treated for flu-like symptoms this morning, officials say.

Health officials have still not been able to identify the cause of the multiple illnesses.

Emergency workers were first called at 9 a.m. to Residence at Oakridge, an assisted living home at 4750 Wheaton Drive, said Patrick Love, spokesman for Poudre Fire Authority.

While paramedics were treating the first patient, additional calls for help started coming in from the same facility, Love said.

Three ambulances responded and six patients were taken to Poudre Valley Hospital for treatment, he said.

Sixteen emergency workers responded to the home to evaluate patients and search for the cause of the sickness, Love said.

Health officials from Larimer County Department of Health and Environment are investigating. They will take action if necessary, he said.
