Wednesday. After 100 years of moving around, the Arapahoe County Fair finally settled into more permanent digs in 2006. It has had a couple of years to get comfortable, so drop by next week for this year’s party, “Red, White and Moo.” All sorts of entertainment awaits: mutton bustin’, model railroads, trout fishing and camel rides, to name an eclectic few.

Tuesday. Texts and instant messages have been flying for months, and now it’s here: Disney’s megahit “High School Musical” goes up at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The stage adaptation of the TV-movie phenomenon features all the songs from the movie, plus two more created especially for the show. In it, two unlikely friends — a jock and a genius — try out for the East High winter musical.
Fort Collins native Bobby List stars in the touring production as the nefarious Ryan Evans, who tries to thwart the pair’s success with his sister Sharpay. 7:30 p.m. July 22-26 and 6:30 p.m. July 27, plus two matinees: 2 p.m. July 26 and 1 p.m. July 27. Tonight-Sunday. Escape the stuffy set and see Shakespeare the old-fashioned way when the No Holds Bard theater troupe performs for free at Civic Center Park. The plays will be done “as Shakespeare intended,” out in the open air with audience interaction and a speedy tempo. Saturday-Sunday. The name says it all: This weekend, the 13th annual Kidspree takes over Aurora’s Bicentennial Park for two days of family-friendly frolicking. The activities range from bouncy inflatables to “Yu-Gi-Oh!” card trading. Two entertainment stages feature music, dance, magic, juggling and more. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Saturday. Earplug sales in the greater Greenwood Village area will skyrocket when tween favorites The Jonas Brothers play Fiddler’s Green on Saturday. The well-coiffed trio from New Jersey play an easy-to-swallow brand of peppy rock-pop, and the girls knock it back like Pixy Stix. The Brothers like to think they’re “pop-punk,” but even in their “punkest” moments, they’re cuddly little teddy bears, singing about dreams and hopes and the pretty girl that got away (cue screams).
