The Larimer County district attorney’s office has dropped an assault charge against the son of a Greeley police sergeant while further evidence is processed, authorities say.
Daniel Hulsey, 28, the son of Sgt. Kell Hulsey, had been charged with misdemeanor assault in connection with a confrontation this month at the Pot Belly Deli, Bar and Restaurant in Red Feather Lakes, said Linda Jensen, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.
The charge was dropped after investigators received conflicting stories about what happened. Sgt. Hulsey is the officer who helped arrest love-triangle murder suspect Shawna Nelson.
