FORT COLLINS — A Loveland man snatched a woman from a car at gunpoint as she left work, forced her into his vehicle and fled, police said.
Police are asking the public for help finding the kidnapping suspect, Travis John Kness, 32, and the victim Rosanna Martinez, 45, of Fort Collins.
Martinez, who carpooled with another worker to their job at The Dollar Tree Store at 2721 S. College Ave., was leaving with her co-worker at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
She was in the passenger seat of the co-worker’s car when Kness “drove up and pointed a handgun at them before firing a bullet into the air,” according to a police release.
Kness pulled Martinez from the car and shoved her into a late ’90s white Jeep Cherokee believed to have Colorado license plate FHX-5828.
Her co-worker fled and called 911.
Martinez and Kness had a relationship that ended about eight months ago, police said.
Kness is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has long brown hair. He is a self-described outdoorsman, and police believe he may have taken Martinez to a rural area.
Anyone who sees the vehicle or its occupants should call 911.
