AURORA, Colo.—Republican John McCain concluded a two-day trip to Colorado with a visit to a Caterpillar dealership in Aurora Wednesday.
Workers at Warner Equipment Co. explained how they rebuild tractor engines as McCain and his wife, Cindy, toured the dealership for 20 minutes before McCain made remarks to employees.
McCain ignored a reporter’s question about the indictment of Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who faces charges of lying about accepting gifts from oil services contractor Veco Corp. Stevens is indicted on seven felony counts.
McCain raised $3.2 million Tuesday at a fundraiser at the home of investor Charlie Gallagher. Guests received gift-wrapped copies of McCain’s “Faith of Our Fathers.”
McCain was traveling later Wednesday to a fundraiser in Kansas City, Mo.
McCain’s visit was his second to Colorado in less than a week. He spoke Friday to a veterans group in Denver and met Saturday with the Dalai Lama in Aspen.
