When the mercury topped 90 on Thursday, it splashed into the history books, besting a 134-year-old record for consecutive days of at least 90 degrees. In 1874, and again in 1901, Denver saw 18 days in a row with temperatures of at least 90. The current streak, which is expected to hit 20 days today with a predicted high of 101, should keep going. Forecasts indicate highs in the 90s through Monday, which would boost the streak to 23
days. In the meantime, Denver denizens are taking advantage of opportunities to stay cool. Above, Amber Baylon, 16, doesn’t seem to mind being doused with a bucket of water during a water fight outside her home on 25th Avenue.
