A phone number being used by callers hoping to score tickets to Barack Obama’s Mile High acceptance speech is experiencing difficulties.
Several callers to the number, 888-468-7404, said they haven’t been able to get through after repeated calls and have been connecting to a busy signal.
Calls by The Denver Post through the morning have also found busy signals.
Earlier this morning the number left a message saying that the Cricket caller they are trying to reach is unavailable because “the phone is off” or is “outside of coverage area.”
A Cricket spokeswoman, however, said the company does not operate 888 numbers and the number is not part of its service.
The Office of the Democratic Host Committee was at a loss to explain why callers couldn’t get through, but encouraged them to be patient.
“I don’t have any suggestion other than to keep trying,” said Trini Dominguez, an office spokeswoman.
People who want tickets also can go to the website to try their luck.
