GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—A convicted sex offender who escaped from a maximum-security hospital in Kansas has been found and arrested at a truck stop in western Colorado.
Garfield County sheriff’s officials say 50-year-old Perry Isley is awaiting extradition to Kansas. He was arrested Wednesday in Glenwood Springs.
Michelle Ponce of the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services says employees at Larned State Hospital noticed Ponce was missing around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Ponce says Isley may have hidden in a laundry bin that was placed outside of the secure building for overnight pickup.
Isley’s criminal record includes convictions of fondling a child younger than age 14 in 1995 and aggravated escape in 1987.
