Annika Sorenstam shot a 1-under-par 71 and trailed by two shots after leader Lill Saether tied the course record with a 64 on Saturday in the rain-shortened Scandinavian TPC.

Saether birdied six of her first seven holes and totaled 9-under 135 after rain postponed second-round play Friday and shortened the tournament to 54 holes. Maria Hjorth also shot a course-record 64 in a bogey-free round and shared second with Lora Fairclough (66) to trail by one stroke.

Tournament host Sorenstam, who is retiring in December, shared fourth with Johanna Head (70).

Thousands of fans followed her group at the Frosaker Golf and Country Club. Today’s round will be her last as a pro in Sweden. Sorenstam, who grew up north of Stockholm, had a course-record 66 in the first round Thursday.

• Duke star Amanda Blumenherst and NCAA champion Azahara Muñoz advanced to the U.S. Women’s Amateur final in Eugene, Ore.

Blumenherst, the three-time national college player of the year, beat 15-year-old Erynne Lee of Silverdale, Wash., 3 and 2. Muñoz, an Arizona State star from Spain, defeated compatriot Belen Mozo 4 and 3.

Roddick reaches final

Andy Roddick overpowered Denis Gremelmayr 6-2, 6-2 to set up a showdown against Juan Martin del Potro for the Countrywide Classic title.

Del Potro, a rangy 19-year-old Argentine, made quick work of Mardy Fish in taking a 6-2, 6-1 victory in their afternoon semifinal.

The top-seeded Roddick, looking for his third ATP championship of the year and 26th of his career, rode his serve-and-volley game and solid groundstrokes to the easy win over his 26-year-old German foe.

Fire finishes with a flurry

Gonzalo Segares and Wilman Conde scored in the final 10 minutes to lead the Chicago Fire to a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution in MLS.

• Claudio Lopez and Davy Arnaud each had a goal and an assist and the Kansas City Wizards beat visiting CD Chivas USA 3-2.

• French cyclist Jimmy Casper tested positive for a banned steroid during the Tour de France, the head of the nation’s anti-doping agency said.
