Jon Sandberg, 44, of Erie was killed Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle, ran off the road and hit a tree, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Sandberg died at the accident scene at mile marker 22 on Boulder County Road 7 west of Erie just before noon, according to the highway patrol.
Troopers said he was wearing a helmet. The accident is under investigation.
