Three new stores are opening in Larimer Square this month, just in time for the Democratic National Convention. Margaret Ebeling, marketing director, says Scarpaletto is returning and will sell women’s shoes, clothes and accessories, as well as men’s shoes at 1436 Larimer St; Victoriana jewelry is moving to 1417 Larimer St. from Writer Square; and Element home furnishings is relocating from the Golden Triangle to 1426 Larimer St. Later this week, a new nightclub is also opening. The Square is also introducing the “Larimer Bag,” one-of- a-kind messenger bags made from banners that once hung on the square and advertised special events, such as the Grand Prix. The bags, produced by Boulder-based Green Guru, are being made in limited editions and will sell for $95 at .
Eye candy
Colorado’s first SEE boutique, 2800 E. Second Ave. in Cherry Creek North is attracting eyeglass aficionados who are fans of its high-design, no-logo frames. The company works with European and Asian designers who create frames exclusively for SEE’s 23 stores, according to Susan Rafferty, marketing director. Glasses are typically $180-$330, which includes a single-vision prescription. An optometrist is on site a couple of days per week. SEE — it’s an acronym for Selective Eyewear Elements — also sells sunglasses, reading glasses and children’s eyewear. “People build wardrobes of eyewear if the price is right,” Rafferty says. So what’s hot for fall? Color, retro styling and unusual materials, like wood and leather, incorporated into frames, Rafferty says. 303-200-1095; .

Design lines
Women who like hip, contemporary labels like Alvin Valley and Mary Bays have a new place to shop. Lauren Metz recently opened Delish Demure at Belleview Promenade in Greenwood Village. She says she got tired of not being able to find her favorite labels — or discover new ones — in Denver, so she opened her own store. Armed with a degree in marketing from the University of Denver and a passion for fashion that ignited when she lived in London and worked for Burberry, Metz offers such client services as lookbooks, wardrobe design, special shopping events and a handbag rental service called Can I Borrow That? The store hosts at an Alvin Valley trunk show and open house from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, 8000 E. Belleview Ave., No. D10. RVSP at . or 303-740-1100.
