DENVER—Denver police say a motorist shot and killed himself after a brief pursuit in a car and on foot.
Police say the pursuit began after an officer tried to stop a black Audi in west Denver for an unspecified traffic violation at about 3 a.m. Monday.
Police say the man abandoned the car, fled on foot down Sixth Avenue and then shot himself. Authorities say the pursuing officer did not fire his weapon.
The man was in his 40s but his name hasn’t been released. Police say they don’t know why he killed himself.
