NEW YORK — Natural gas fell to its lowest price in six months after a government report showed supplies increased, meeting the expectation of analysts.
Stockpiles gained 50 billion cubic feet in the week ended Aug. 8, the Energy Department said Thursday. Analysts forecast an increase of 52 billion cubic feet.
Natural gas for September delivery fell 33 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $8.126 per million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
