GREELEY, Colo.—Police arrested the father of an 11-month-old boy who died after being electrocuted when investigators say he grabbed a clock with exposed wires.

Greeley police say they arrested Ernesto Talavera-Nunez Wednesday night after officers found inconsistencies in his statements about the incident. The 23-year-old is being held on suspicion of felony child abuse resulting in the death of his son Tuesday.

Talavera-Nunez was being held at the Weld County jail on $15,000 bond. Police say Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are reviewing whether he is in the country legally.
