VAIL — Firefighters say lightning started a fire that caused an estimated $500,000 damage to a home in the Vail Valley.
Eagle River Fire Protection District Chief Charlie Moore says a resident called 911 after noticing smoke Saturday.
Officials say the 7,800-square-foot home was worth about $4 million.
No injuries were reported.
