NEW YORK — Oil prices ended a choppy session slightly higher Monday, edging back above $115 a barrel after Tropical Storm Gustav formed in the Caribbean.

At the pump, a gallon of regular gasoline shed almost a penny overnight to a national average of $3.681, according to auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. In Denver, the price dropped nearly a penny to $3.74.
