
The uncle left to watch a 20-month-old boy who drowned in a hot tub has been charged with child abuse resulting in death.
Jarrod Michael Newsome, 28, of Westminster, faces charges in the Aug. 12 death of his nephew, Kaden Newsome, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said today in a news release.
The incident happened Aug.12 at 8199 Welby Road and the boy died on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Authorities were called to 8199 Welby Road early in the afternoon on a report of a drowning.
The boy, was found in a hot tub in the backyard by a woman who was at the home to pick up her dog, the sheriff’s office said.
The boy and his two-year-old sister had been left with Jarrod Michael Newsome while the children’s father ran errands.
Kaden was taken to the hospital but died Aug. 19.
Jarrod Newsome turned himself in on Friday and was released on $20,000 bond, the news release said.
