So Lance Armstrong is getting back on his bike.
Question is, can the Broncos get back on theirs?
As in, can they beat the Chargers after being dominated by them last season? And I mean dominated. Your final score from the two games: 64-6, Bolts.
“The only thing I remember is we were never in the game, either game,” said Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. “They embarrassed us.”
Just like the Broncos embarrassed the Raiders Monday night. Make no doubt, that won’t be Al Davis’ team on the field Sunday at Invesco Field. The Chargers have some injuries, most notably to Shawne Merriman, but they’ll arrive in town with a chip on their shoulders after losing their opener to Carolina in the closing seconds.
“We’ll get their best shot,” Shanahan said.
If so, and if the Broncos can find a way to win, it would send a loud message to the rest of the AFC West, not to mention the rest of the league.
If so, the Broncos would be back.
