ST. PAUL, Minn. — A lawyer for Sen. Larry Craig asked the Minnesota Court of Appeals on Wednesday to allow Craig to withdraw a guilty plea to disorderly conduct after his arrest in a sex-sting operation at an airport men’s room last year.

Craig, R-Idaho, was arrested June 11, 2007, at the Minneapolis airport by an undercover airport police officer. His lawyer, William Martin of Washington, argued that Craig should be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea because the police complaint lacked sufficient evidence.

The appellate panel has 90 days to issue a ruling.
