OKLAHOMA CITY—Officials say a Frontier Airlines plane experienced mechanical problems but landed safely at an Oklahoma City airport.

No one was hurt in Thursday’s incident.

Airport spokesman Mark Kranenberg said the passengers were removed from the Airbus 319 and taken to the terminal after waiting on a runway for two hours.

An editor with The Oklahoman who was on the plane said the pilot told passengers the aircraft’s brakes locked up after touching down. The editor said one of the nosewheel tires had blown and the nosewheel structure was bent at a 90-degree angle.

The plane arrived from Frontier’s Denver hub, where passengers were delayed after their scheduled flight was canceled.

Kranenberg says airport service was not interrupted.
