Getting your player ready...
DENVER—Colorado Lottery officials say it’s been a record year for lottery sales in the state.
Colorado Lottery spokeswoman Kristen Shew says sales were $505.8 million in the last fiscal year that ended June 30, up from $468 million the previous year.
There are 42 states with a lottery, and Colorado is one of 22 with a record number of lotto sales.
Colorado sales are up, even as the unemployment rate also has risen.
Shew says the typical lottery player spends an average of $3 to $5 a week on lottery products.
