SALT LAKE CITY — Alecko Eskandarian scored in the 72nd minute Saturday to give Chivas USA a Major League Soccer win over Real Salt Lake before a regular-season record crowd of 26,391 fans in the final game at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Real defender Nat Borchers collided with goalie Nick Rimando as a pass ball rolled by to the waiting Eskandarian, who knocked it in for his third goal in only five appearances after missing much of the season because of a groin injury.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kevin Souter scored his first MLS goal in a victory over Toronto FC.
Jack Jewsbury converted a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to cap the Wizards’ scoring. Toronto FC is winless in five matches.

The Houston Dynamo postponed Saturday’s home match against the San Jose Earthquakes because of the aftermath of Hurricane Ike.
It was rescheduled for Oct. 15.
