LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska safety Rickey Thenarse is expected to play after weeks of injury when the Huskers meet the Hokies in Lincoln.
Thenarse was back to full speed in practice Monday. He injured his collarbone in the season opener and hasn’t played since.
Coach Bo Pelini says Thenarse gives the Huskers depth at a position that was getting thin.
Coaches say Thenarse will help Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor in check.
Taylor has thrown for 199 yards and passed for 221 more this season.
Virginia Tech comes to Lincoln after storming back from a 17-3 deficit in the third quarter defeat North Carolina in Chapel Hill, 20-17.
