LITTLETON, Colo.—Littleton police have closed their investigation into a crash that killed two people—without determining the cause.
Authorities say 36-year-old Richard Scott Hogsett drove his Mercedes-Benz across a divided median Aug. 2 and hit a Honda head-on before going airborne and landing on a Ford sedan.
Hogsett, and 27-year-old Neva Christine Mondragon, were killed instantly. Twenty-six-year-old Kelly Joan Horan, who was driving the Honda, was critically injured and remains hospitalized.
Littleton police say evidence at the scene would indicate the crash was intentional, but nothing in Hogsett’s background or toxicology report indicates it was anything more than an accident.
Hogsett had no record of crimes or traffic offenses.
