PUEBLO, Colo.—No injuries are reported after a small plane with landing gear problems landed safely at Pueblo Memorial Airport.
Authorities say the pilot of the 377 Cessna Skymaster reported Thursday night that his landing gear would not come down.
Pueblo police say the pilot and a passenger were able to manually deploy the landing gear, but only partially. The plane then circled the skies for some 30 minutes to burn off fuel.
The rear landing gear did not lock into place, causing the plane to fishtail upon landing. But Pueblo Fire Department spokesman Woody Percival says the plane did arrive safely at about 10:10 p.m.
KOAA-TV identified the pilot as James Simms and the passenger as Edie Gillis, both of Maryland.
The two were flying from the Grand Canyon to Pueblo.
