GRAND LAKE, Colo.—A log-sided motel thought to be one of the oldest in Colorado could be preserved.
The current owners of the former Eslick Motor Court have proposed selling it to the Grand Lake Area Historical Society for $1. The society would then agree to move the theater to another site by next summer.
The Grand Lake Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater considered using the motel for offices or for concession sales. But theater owners decided there is no way to incorporate it into the construction of a new theater.
The motel was built between 1912 and 1915.
